Private Lesson: Wheel Throwing

Service Description

Wheel Throwing Requirements: No prior experience Ages 13+ Private lessons are a great low pressure way to learn pottery basics or improve your skills. We focus on the process of making pottery and the skills needed to continue on your own. It can be challenging, but fun. Add about 15 mins to the end of your session for clean-up. You will also select a glaze for your newly thrown piece. We will then trim, bisque and glaze fire your piece. Wheel Lessons: We focus on the fundamentals of wheel throwing, like centering, opening and pulling up walls. We emphasize process over product. Pricing: Wheel- 1 person, $115 Wheel- 2 people, $165 At the end your lesson participants can pick their favorite piece and PCH staff with trim and glaze the piece. The entire process can take approx. 3 weeks. *Portland Clay House makes no guarantees on the end product. Pottery is a finicky art form and we can’t guarantee your piece will be what you hoped and expected it to be. We will do our best to nurture your piece while it’s in our possession. But glazing and firing can have unpredictable results even for the most experienced potters. *
