Valentine's Slab Mug Workshop
February 14th
Service Description
1-Day Workshop: Making a slab Mug Instructors: Kim and John Instruction Time: 2 hr Requirements: No prior experience Ages 13+ This is a great workshop for beginners or those who want more practice. We will learn some essential handbuilding techniques: slab cylinders, handles and surface decoration. You can easily modify this to make a tumbler, vase or plant pot. This is a fun project to do on a date night or with friends! After you make your pot, you get to pick your favorite glaze and we will glaze it for you. This is a 1-day workshop that we are offering in both January and February, so pick which day works best for you! The sessions is booked as 2.5 hours. 2 hours to work on your project and 30 mins for clean-up and glaze selection. *Portland Clay House makes no guarantees on the end product. Pottery is a finicky art form and we can’t guarantee your piece will be what you hoped and expected it to be. We will do our best to nurture your piece while it’s in our possession. Glazing and firing can have unpredictable results even for the most experienced potters. Turn around time is approximately 3 weeks.
